1. Starting TestStation Candidate

1.1 You start Teststation Candidate by pressing the buttom on the web page.

1.2 A testleader must login before a test taker:

1.3 When the testleader have logged in correctly, this messagebox is displayed:

1.4 Click on "OK"

1.5 Fill in the username and password you have been assigned by your testleader:

1.6 Click on "Log in"

When you have logged into to TestStation, the following dialogue box will be displayed. It contains the information about you that is registered in the database.:

1.8 If the information about you is correct, click on "Continue". If you want to change the information in the dialogue box, make the changes before you click on "Continue".

If you wish to have a different language version of TestStation Admin's interface, you can change language by clicking on the list button for languages and selecting the language you require from the list. This adjustment will not however affect the language version of the tests. If you have made any changes or completions, but change your mind and wish to return to the original information, click on "Restore". Click on "Cancel" if you wish to go back and log in again.

2. Selecting a test

You have now logged into TestStation in order to perform tests. The dialogue box "Select a test" will be displayed:

This dialogue box is central in TestStation. The only way of exiting TestStation is from "Select a test", which means that you should arrive at this dialogue box every time you interrupt a function in TestStation. However, if an error would occur in the application it will be closed automatically.

The dialogue box contains a tab window with the tabs "Tests", "Aborted tests" and "Results", which include the following functions:

>Tests: Displays the tests you have been assigned.

Aborted tests: Displays the tests that have been abnormally aborted. These tests will be shown with the date and time that they aborted. You can choose to continue with these tests, if a testsession was interrupted, i.e. because of a communication error. Aborted tests will be deleted from the system after 24 hours, since a certification test must be continued as soon as possible after a interruption. This means, that you cannot abort a test normally and continue it later!

Results: Displays the tests you have completed at an earlier occasion. These tests will be shown with the date and time that they were performed. You can also display the results of these tests.

2.1 Selecting a new test

2.1.1 Select a test in the listbox under the tab "Tests" by clicking on its name with the mouse. Then click on "OK". You can also double-click on the name of the test.


The test you have selected will start.

2.2 Selecting an ealier aborted test

2.2.1 Click on the tab "Aborted tests". Select the test you wish to continue with by clicking on the name of the test with the mouse. Then click on "OK". You can also double-click on the name of the test.

The test you have selected will start. The test will start with the first unanswered question and the rest of the unanswered questions in the test will follow.

2.3 Viewing an ealier result

2.3.1 Click on the tab "Results". Select the result you wish to see by clicking on the name of the test with the mouse. Then click on "OK". You can also double-click on the name of the test.

The selected result will now be displayed.

3. Starting the test

When you have chosen and started the test from within the dialogue box "Select a test", the dialogue box "Test information" will be displayed:

3.1 If you can confirm that this is the test you want to perfom, click on "OK". If this is NOT the test you want to perfom, or if you want to perfom the test on a later occasion, click on "Cancel", and you will come back to the dialogue box "Select a test".

If you click on "OK" the test will start, and the time will start running.

4. Navigate inside Teststation Candidate

At the top of the screen you will find the Control Panel:

  • The question text (the top left area)
  • The navigation panel (the top right area)
Below you will find the Answer Panel (to the left) and the picture area (to the right), which are depended on the question type (see section 4.2).

4.1 Control buttons and indicators

Displays the number of the question in respect to the total number of questions in the test.
Navigates to the previous question.
Navigates to the next question.
Navigates to the previous unanswered question.
Navigates to the next unanswered question.
Answers the question after you have selected the answering alternative. This button will not become active until you have selected an answer.
Lets you answer the question later, the question will be moved to the end of the test.
Skips a question. The question will be marked as unanswered. Because of this, using the and the button will not stop at this question.
Clears the answer.
Finishes the test before the limit time is reached, even if you have questions marked as unanswered.
Displays certain information about the question (measuring point and knowledge area).
Displays an about box of Teststation Candidate.

4.2 Answering question

The test's questions are shown in a window containing two parts: The Control Panel and the Answering Panel. The Control Panel displays the current question. The different questions types in TestStation are to be answered in two different ways:

  1. In the case where buttons with answering alternatives in the Answering Panel are shown, you answer the question by selecting the radio button that, according to your opinion, answers the question.
  2. In the case where only a picture is shown and there are no buttons with answering alternatives in the Answering Panel, you answer the question by clicking on the required place in the picture.
In the case where both buttons with answering alternatives and a picture are shown in the Answering Panel, the purpose of the picture is to illustrate the question.

5. Finishing the test

5.1 Finishing a test with all questions answered

5.1.1 When you have answered all the questions in a test, the following message box will be displayed:


5.1.2 Click on "Yes" if you have finished the test and wish to see your result. Click on "Cancel" if you want to return to the test.

5.2 Finishing a test with unanswered questions

5.2.1 If you click on the button , while still having unanswered questions, the following message box will be displayed:


5.2.2 Click on "Yes" if you really want to end the test and wish to see your result. Click on "Cancel" if you want to return to the test.

6. Viewing the result

When you have finished the test, the result will be displayed in a browser window:


The Category result relates to the categories in the Syllabus. If you want to print out you result, you can use you browser normal print command.
